Stocks to Watch Tomorrow 01/04

The greater fool game has moved to the Chinese micro-cap stocks. China Precision Steel, Inc. (Nasdaq: CPSL) jumped 25% today after a 109% move Friday after the comapny announced name change/reverse merger with OLAB. Highway Holdings Ltd. (Nasdaq: HIHO) and China Natural Resources Inc. (Nasdaq: CHNR) also jumpted today as traders looked for other names to turn to. Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. (NYSE: SMI) was also 22% higher but this was related to takeover speculation. China Eastern Airlines (NYSE: CEA) was up 22% too. This theme could either continue over the short term or end suddenly, leaving those that bought at the highs holding the bag.

Constellation Brands (NYSE: STZ) is expected to report earnings before the open

Monsanto (NYSE: MON) is expected to report earnings before the open

Healthways Inc. (Nasdaq: HWAY) is expected to report earnings after the close

Piker Internet search provider MIVA Inc. (Nasdaq: MIVA) jumped 14% today on a deal Google. This one has been much hated, but could be one to watch.

Witness Systems (NASDAQ: WITS) is looking strong after-hours after the company provided healthy revenue guidance after the close.

Carrier Access Corporation (NASDAQ: CACS) is looking weak after-hours after the company lowered Q4 guidance.

After the close it was announced that AvalonBay Communities Inc. (NYSE: AVB) will move into the S&P 500, Global Payments Inc. (NYSE: GPN) into the S&P MidCap 400 and Gibraltar Industries Inc. (NASDAQ: ROCK) into the S&P SmallCap 600.

Commodity stocks got smashed today: Independent Oil & Gas down 3.5%, Oil & Gas Drilling & Exploration down 3.56%, Major Integrated Oil & Gas down 2.45%, Oil & Gas Equipment & Services down 4.12%, Industrial Metals & Minerals -3%
